Spicy Beef Talawa Gosht Recipe

We recently came across a viral reel featuring a mouthwatering dish called Talawa Gosht. It looked so good we couldn’t resist heading straight to the kitchen to try it ourselves. While the authentic Hyderabadi version is traditionally made with mutton, we decided to put our own spin on it using beef and the results were incredible. With basic, everyday pantry ingredients and a unique technique, you’ll get meat that’s crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, and packed with a fiery kick. Trust us, once you try this, your usual beef cravings are about to get a serious upgrade. Grab your apron and let’s get cooking!

      6 tbsp

    • Onion (পেঁয়াজ)

      1 cup

    • Chili Powder (মরিচের গুঁড়া)

      2 tbsp

      10 pcs

    • Coriander Leaves (ধনে পাতা)

      Small Handful

    Method

    1. 1

First, take the Beef in a pressure cooker.

    2. 2

Now add Ginger Paste, Garlic Paste, Salt, Chili Powder, and Turmeric Powder to the meat.

    3. 3

Mix the meat thoroughly with all the spices. Remember, do not add any oil during this step.

    4. 4

Pour in the Water to cook the meat, give it a quick stir, and close the lid of the pressure cooker.

    5. 5

Once the meat is completely tender, open the lid and turn up the heat to dry out any remaining gravy or excess water completely.

    6. 6

Heat the Cooking Oil in a separate pan.

    7. 7

Once the oil is hot, add the chopped Onion and fry until they turn into a beautiful golden brown Beresta (fried onions).

    9. 8

Now, add the previously boiled beef into the pan with the beresta oil.

    10. 9

To bring out that rich dark color and intense heat, sprinkle some more Chili Powder and Garam Masala Powder over the top.

    11. 10

Keep stirring the meat continuously over medium heat. When the meat becomes well-fried, slightly crispy on the outside but remains soft inside, add the reserved Beresta back on top.

    12. 11

Finally, for that authentic aroma, add the Green Chilies, Curry Leaves, and a handful of chopped Coriander Leaves, then gently mix them into the meat.

    13. 12

Keep it on low heat for a few minutes to let the fresh flavors infuse into the meat, then remove it from the stove.
